Tokachi Shimizu Cheese Factory
A small but renowned cheese workshop located in Shimizu Town, where the clear air and fertile soil produce excellent milk. Artisanal cheesemakers craft natural, hand-aged cheeses using traditional European techniques adapted to Hokkaido’s environment. Visitors can observe the production process through glass windows and purchase freshly made cheese at the adjoining shop. The soft 'Camembert Tokachi' and smoked cheeses are local favorites. The factory also offers occasional tasting events and cheese-making workshops.
